November is National Family Caregivers Month

November is not only National Alzheimer Disease and Awareness month, but also National Family Caregivers Month. Everyday, family caregivers fulfill a very important role on their loved one’s care team. As we know, November is known as the month of thanks and as we prepare to head into the holiday season, you may want to take some time to show your appreciation to the caregivers in your life. November is National Alzheimer's Disease and Awareness Month (NADAM)

Alzheimer’s, the only cause of death in the top 10 in America that cannot be prevented, cured, or slowed. Alzheimer's doesn't just affect people of an older age. An early onset of the disease can develop in a people as early as their 40s or 50s. In honor of National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, we want to help spread awareness about this disease. November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Did you know, lung cancer takes more lives than colon, breast, and prostate cancer combined? Often labeled as the smoker’s disease, you may be surprised to know that 80 percent of new lung cancer cases are former and never smokers. Due to lung cancer’s stigma, many mistakenly assume that the only people at risk are those who smoke - which may in part be the reason only 17 percent of lung cancer cases are diagnosed early, when the disease is most curable.
